Every winter thousands of humpback whales cross from the North Atlantic to Samaná Bay to mate and give birth, and they can be seen from the boat just a few meters away. The season runs from January 15 to March 31, peaking in February. The full-day trip departs from this coast: transportation to Samaná, boarding at the port, and whale watching with an onboard observer, almost always including Cayo Levantado or El Limón Waterfall the same day.
